Goddin Real Estate and First Time Buyers.

Goddin Real Estate enjoys working with first time buyers and seeing the excitement as the dream of home ownership becomes a reality. Buying your first home can be one of the most exciting and intimidating things you ever do. You are making the biggest financial commitment of your life, as well as accepting all the responsibilities that come with being a property owner.

Since many first time buyers have a hard time knowing where to start, I suggest an initial conference to discuss your goals and expectations, review financial considerations, and establish a framework for how we may work together to achieve your goals. By determining a price range and  general property requirements, we will identify areas and properties to consider, and schedule a time to begin inspecting properties.

Buying your first home is a learning process that extends beyond just finding a property that you like. I will help you learn about loans, inspections, resale values, and much more. If you are willing to put forth the effort to achieve the necessary education,  you will find the process very rewarding, and the education valuable for many years to come.

There are some very good loan programs available to first time buyers. One good place to find out about some of them is the North Carolina Housing Finance Agency web site. The Nehemiah Program is down payment assistance program which is not limited to first time buyers, but certainly can be used by them.
